While getting good lighting is of course crucial, one particularly important tip is to not be afraid to raise your ISO. A mistake beginners often make is trying to keep their ISO low for better image quality by using a longer shutter speed that is sometimes too slow for the action. It is much better to come home with a noisy but sharp photo than one with motion blur, as you can always apply noise reduction to an image, but once it is lost to motion blur, there isn’t much you can do. Check out the video above for the full rundown.
